We are a three partner firm (Martin Salloway, Phillip Miles and Anne Bellchambers) with one assistant solicitor (Keith Barker), set up in February 2000. Our fee earners have over 75 years of experience between them.

Anne Bellchambers LLB
Anne qualified in 1987 and was a sole practioner in Exeter before being a founding partner in Bay Advocates.

She is also a higher courts advocate.  This entitles her to conduct matters in the Crown Court and above, which are usually the preserve of barristers.

Anne has developed a reputation for going the extra mile for clients, achieving impressive results in the process.

In her spare time, Anne is a keen sportswoman (cricket being a particular speciality) and sometime pilot.

Philip Miles BA

Philip (qualified 1986) and was in at the start of Bay Advocates as a partner having previously been a partner elsewhere in Torbay.

Phil has a loyal client following which is a tribute to his tenacity and steadfastness.

Phil is a devoted family man, church goer and star trek afficionado.

Martin Salloway BA
Martin has been practising since 1994 and left another local firm to set up Bay Advocates with Anne and Phil.

He is also a higher courts advocate.  This entitles him to conduct matters in the Crown Court and above, which are usually the preserve of barristers.

Martin has developed an eye for technical defences in road traffic cases, to the benefit of a number of local motorists.

Away from work, Martin is an enthusiastic cook, the effects of which he tries to counterbalance by regular cycling.

Keith Barker
Keith has been a duty solicitor since 1976 and had his own firm in London before linking with Bay Advocates.

Keith is a highly experienced lawyer who is undaunted by even the most serious cases.

He enjoys living deep in the Devon countryside, where he pursues his interest in rugby and real ale.
