CHANGES AHEAD AT BAY 

 

After nearly 25 years, things are changing at Bay Advocates. From the first of October 2024, Bay will no longer be taking on new legal aid cases. We have decided to end our contract with the Legal Aid Agency to do this work. We shall remain open for the time being to complete current work. We shall be in touch with existing clients about that. We shall consider taking on new privately paid work on a case-by-case basis for clients who are unable or unwilling to be represented on legal aid. It’s been a great journey. We are very proud of what we’ve achieved over the years but the time has come to move on. We are grateful to all of those who have helped us on the way.

Bay Advocates is a firm of solicitors who specialise in criminal law. We cover the full range of criminal work from motoring to murder. 

 

Each member of our team specialises in a particular field and offers a dedicated service to our clients to ensure the very best in representation. 

 

Based in Torquay , we cover local police stations and courts including Torquay police station, Newton Abbot Magistrates' Court and the Crown Courts at Exeter and Plymouth. 

 

 

After 20 years at our much-loved office at 238 Union Street, in 2021 we moved our Torquay operation to a smart serviced office by the coach station at Lymington Road, where we have excellent facilities for staff and clients. Our branch office (Teign Advocates) has now closed. Please direct any enquiries about Teign Advocates to the Torquay office.
